turkey apple sage paninis

Ingredients

  • butter (at room temp/spreadable)
  • 12 slices or your favorite bread (I used fresh sourdough loaf from the bakery)
  • 12 slices roasted turkey breast (about ¾ pound)
  • 6 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1/2 apple; cored, cut into wedges, then thinly sliced
  • 1 bunch of sage, leaves separated
  • 6 oz brie, sliced into 6 pieces
  • dijon mustard
  • honey

Instructions

  1. Heat panini or grill press to medium-high. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Top the non-buttered side of one piece of bread with 2 slices of turkey, 1 slice of bacon, a few pieces of thinly sliced apple, 1-2 sage leaves, 1 slice of brie, a squirt of mustard and honey, then the second piece of bread (buttered side up). Place the sandwich on the panini press then close the lid to press the sandwich down (or in a grill pan using a burger press or heavy pot to squish the sandwich). Grill until cheese has melted and the bread is lightly browned on both sides with grill marks. Repeat with remaining ingredients/sandwiches. ENJOY.
